Today, we’re gonna break down how to give orders and how to tell a dude to chill out and not do somethin’. We talkin’ ’bout commands and negative commands. This ain’t no playground talk, this is how you lay down the law in the streets, you feel me?

This grammar pattern is like when the big homie says, “Hey, go grab that bag,” or “Don’t be slippin’.” It’s straight to the point, no frills, no “please.” It’s for when you’re the boss, and you ain’t got time for small talk. You gotta get the job done, and you gotta get it done now.

Important Notes on the Imperative Form:

See, just barkin’ orders like you’re the big boss can get you in hot water. It’s for when you’re the head honcho, or when things are goin’ south fast, or with your family and crew. It’s a real blunt instrument, ya get me?

But if you wanna be slick, you got other options.

• “～てください (te kudasai)” is your go-to. It’s like sayin’, “Do me a favor and…” You can use it with anyone, from the little guy to the top dog, and it gets the job done without gettin’ anyone’s feathers ruffled.
• “～なさい (nasai)” is for when you’re talkin’ to the kids or the new recruits. It’s a soft command, a real gentle nudge. Like a teacher or a parent talkin’, not a hitman.
• “てくれ (te kure)” is for your closest fellas, your ride-or-die guys. It’s straight to the point, no fluff, but it’s only for the people you trust with your life. Use it on a stranger and you’re askin’ for trouble.

English: A cigarette.

ゆるす (Yurusu)

English: To forgive; to pardon; to excuse.

Listen up. This is when you let go of that grudge you holdin’. It’s when someone messes up, and you choose not to be mad at ’em no more. Like when a homie betrays the crew, but you decide to give him a second chance ’cause he’s been with you since the jump. That’s what this word is. Forgiveness. But some things, you just can’t forgive. You feel me?

かくす (Kakusu)

English: To hide; to conceal.

Straight up, this is when you put something somewhere so nobody can find it. You gotta keep your stash on the low, right? You hide your paper, your jewels, your burner. You don’t want the cops or the ops gettin’ their hands on your business. You gotta be smart and be slick about it.

うそを つく (Uso o tsuku)

English: To lie; to tell a lie.

This is when you say somethin’ that ain’t true. You tellin’ a story to get out of trouble, or to get over on somebody. You gotta be careful, though. A lie can get you into some deep drama. But sometimes, you gotta lie to protect your people. It’s a dangerous game, but that’s just how the streets work.

だまる (Damaru)

English: To be quiet; to shut up; to keep silent.

This is what you do when you gotta keep your mouth shut. You don’t snitch. You don’t give up the goods. You keep it 100 with the crew and you don’t say a word to nobody outside the circle, especially the police. You gotta know when to speak and when to keep it sealed. Silence is golden, my G.
