Now we flip it. This is humble talk. This is how you (the soldier) talk about your own actions to the boss. You don’t just suru (do) for the boss. You itasu (humbly do). It shows you know your place.
Common Situation: “I will do it.” (私がいたします。) “I will make the call.” (私が電話いたします。)
Metaphor: This is bowing with your verbs. You’re lowering your own actions to show respect to the person you’re talking to.

- ボス、その「仕事」、私がいたします。 ボス、その 「しごと」、わたし が いたします。 (bosu, sono “shigoto”, watashi ga itashimasu.) Boss, I will do that “job.”
- 奴の処分は、私がいたします。 やつ の しょぶん は、わたし が いたします。 (yatsu no shobun wa, watashi ga itashimasu.) I will handle his punishment.
- 裏切り者の調査は、私がいたしました。 うらぎりもの の ちょうさ は、わたし が いたしました。 (uragirimono no chousa wa, watashi ga itashimashita.) I was the one who conducted the investigation of the traitor.
- ボスがご心配なさらないよう、私がすべて準備いたします。 ボス が ごしんぱい なさらない よう、わたし が すべて じゅんび いたします。 (bosu ga go-shinpai nasaranai you, watashi ga subete junbi itashimasu.) So that you don’t have to worry, Boss, I will prepare everything.
- ボスに代わって、私が脅迫いたします。 ボス に かわって、わたし が きょうかつ いたします。 (bosu ni kawatte, watashi ga kyoukatsu itashimasu.) I will do the blackmailing in your place, Boss.
- 新しいアジトの確保、私がいたします。 あたらしい アジト の かくほ、わたし が いたします。 (atarashii ajito no kakuho, watashi ga itashimasu.) I will secure the new safe house.
- このシマの見回りは、今夜、私がいたします。 この シマ の みまわり は、こんや、わたし が いたします。 (kono shima no mimawari wa, konya, watashi ga itashimasu.) I will do the patrol of this turf tonight.
- その「ブツ」の運搬、私がいたします。 その 「ブツ」 の うんぱん、わたし が いたします。 (sono “butsu” no unpan, watashi ga itashimasu.) I will handle the transport of that “package.”
- ボス、ご命令通りにいたします。 ボス、ご めいれい どおり に いたします。 (bosu, go-meirei doori ni itashimasu.) Boss, I will do exactly as you have commanded.
