This is for reporting commands. It’s not just “he said X,” it’s “he told me to do X.” This is how you pass down orders from the shot-callers. It’s indirect, so you’re summarizing the command, not quoting it word-for-word.

Common Situations:

• Relaying the boss’s orders (“The boss said to be there at 10”).
• Warning a new guy (“I told him to stay quiet”).
• Telling someone what the cops said (“They told me to get out”).

Metaphor: This is like being the lieutenant. The Don gives you the order. You turn to your soldiers and pass it on. You are the middle-man for a command. ...you ni iu is you reporting that order.
