A’ight, final lesson. ～だす (dasu) is all about the pop-off. This ain’t ‘hajimeru’ (to begin) where you plan it. This is when shit happens outta nowhere. It’s spontaneous. The snitch sees you and 泣き出す (nakidasu) (bursts out crying). The boss hears the joke and 笑い出す (waraidasu) (busts out laughing). The cops roll up and your homie 走り出す (hashiridasu) (takes off running). It’s that sudden, unexpected start to an action.

Common Situations
