Do you speak English

The mob’s safe house had a coffee machine that was always on the fritz. That machine was a part of the crew’s morning ritual. The boss, Don Vittorio, got real cranky without his morning joe, and that’s why everyone was so desperate to fix the damn thing. But fixing it was a real pain in the neck for everyone.

First up was Rocky, the tough bodyguard. He tried to solve the problem with muscle, just like he handled a weapons smuggling job. He whacked it, kicked it, and yelled at it like the real mobster he was. “You piece of junk!” he shouted. His brute force did jack squat, and all the machine did was make a louder racket, going against his expectations.

Next was Jack, the informant. Unlike Rocky, he used his brain. He searched the machine’s model number online, real quiet-like, as if he was afraid of being ratted out. He believed the more info you had, the better the shot you had at a solution. But all his technical info didn’t do a thing, going against his pile of research, the inside of that machine was too complex.

Then, Lucy, the con artist, stepped up. She was a master at using sweet talk and smooth tricks to get what she wanted. She leaned in close to the machine and whispered, “Come on, pretty thing, won’t you work for me?” Her approach was a real switch from the other two. She was trying to pull a fast one on that machine, like a robber trying to sweet-talk their way into a score. But the machine stayed dead silent, going against her little charm offensive.

After Lucy failed, the crew got real bummed out. They started whispering conspiracy theories, figuring the thing was cursed. The mood got heavy, like a search for a rat in the crew.

Leon, the hitman, was watching the whole time. He was cool as a cucumber and never showed his feelings. He walked up to the machine without a word and just stared at it. He checked it out real meticulously, like he was analyzing a target to see what made it tick. His quiet calm was a weird relief, going against the anxiety of everyone around him.

He pulled a small screwdriver out of his pocket. It looked just like the tools he used for a job. He took his time, unscrewing things with the same caution he’d use on a drug deal. “The more you rush, the more you screw up,” he mumbled. Going against his smooth moves, the inside of the machine was full of dust and old parts.

Leon replaced the busted part and put the machine back together. He walked away quiet as a mouse, like he just pulled off a prison break. The next morning, Don Vittorio flipped the switch, and a warm coffee smell filled the whole joint, shocking everyone. Leon’s pro work, going against the confusion of the others, fixed the machine right up.

Ever since, whenever something broke, everyone went to Leon. He showed a new talent in the organization, a side of him the cops and investigators would never see. And just like a security camera watching over everything, he became an essential part of their daily grind.

Stay on that grind. Peace out.
