Part 1

Tokyo’s been a real drag today. Rain’s been comin’ down all morning, and the streets are a nightmare. Me and my brother-in-arms, Kenichi, we’re stuck in this black van, just tappin’ our fingers on the wheel, gettin’ more and more annoyed. Our gig’s a top-secret one: we gotta bodyguard a truck carryin’ some heavy cargo. I catch a look at the truck in the rearview mirror and grumble to Kenichi, “Hey, man, when’s this job gonna be over? We’ve been sittin’ here for three hours. I don’t know what’s in there, but nobody said it’d take this long.” Kenichi just sighs, starin’ out the window. “What’s the point of complainin’? It’s the boss’s orders. Besides, they say this stuff is worth a fortune. We just gotta tough it out.”

Part 2

The truck we’re guardin’ looks like any other delivery truck. But we were told the cargo inside was some kind of treasure that could change our crew’s whole future. I grab the radio to call the boss, but the signal’s bustin’ up. I slam my hand on the wheel, pissed. “Damn, this radio’s useless. What the hell’s in there, anyway? You think it’s guns? Or maybe some white powder?” “Nah, no way it’s somethin’ that big. The boss said it was ‘delicate stuff.’ He told us to handle it with care,” Kenichi says, but I know his mind’s goin’ a mile a minute, just like mine. We’re thinkin’ diamonds, priceless art, maybe some secret intel for a new hustle.

Part 3

Me and Kenichi, we try to kill time by crackin’ some dumb jokes, but this traffic ain’t movin’. We’re startin’ to regret takin’ this route. I’m feelin’ the heat, man. I gotta nail this job. I’m the underboss, and me and Kenichi are gunnin’ for a promotion to a made man. Pullin’ this off was supposed to be our ticket. “Hey, man, we’re gonna miss the meetin’ time. The boss is gonna be pissed,” I tell him. He throws his hands up. “I know! I know! But what can we do? We can’t just ditch the truck.” We’re both lookin’ worn out and stressed.

Part 4

The afternoon rolls around, and the traffic finally starts to thin out. We both let out a sigh of relief and look back at the truck. The driver’s Goro, one of the old-timers the boss trusts. He gives us a thumbs-up. Kenichi nods back, relieved that the end is in sight. Before long, we pull up to the crew’s warehouse. The whole place is on lockdown, and they wave the truck inside. Me and Kenichi are tense, waitin’ for the truck doors to open.

Part 5

The doors creak open, and we see a bunch of cardboard boxes. I got my piece ready, and Kenichi’s on guard. But then Goro, the driver, grins and opens the top box. My eyes get real wide. The whole box is filled with little yellow ducks, the rubber kind you put in the bathtub. I stare, my mouth hangin’ open. “This… this is the treasure?” I ask. Kenichi just lets out a laugh and shrugs. “Guess so, man. I guess this is what the boss meant by ‘delicate stuff.’” All the stress we’ve been holdin’ on to just melts away, replaced by this dumbfounded look. Three hours of our lives, all spent bodyguardin’ a box of rubber ducks.

Stay on that grind. Peace out.
